I'm using blackbox 0.61.1 on a compaq ipaq, and it's pretty much been
great, esp. because it is so configurable. Thanks to all responsible.

However, now I'm trying to use an external VGA display
(with an HP VGA OUT PCMCIA card) and blackbox is completely
messing up the colors on the second screen.

   - screen 0 is 320x240 16 bit
   - screen 1 is 800x600 8 bit (pseudocolor)

A typical problem is that if I set the root to white, I get pink. Without
blackbox, all is fine. Blackbox when starting on the 8-bit display
complains about not being able to allocate colors, as if it is confusing
the visuals between the two screens.
Even if I use the second screen in 16 bit mode (640x400 unfortunately)
the colors are wrong, but this time there are no error messages, but
everything appears various shades of reddish brown. I'm only using the
second screen for presentations via projectors, so a window manager
is not absolutely necessary, but it would sure help a lot.

I've searched and browsed thru the mailing list archive and found nothing
relevant ... any suggestions? I'm happy to hack source if someone can
get me started in the right direction.

A useful interim solution to fully fixing the problem would be to
get blackbox to not manage the second screen. Any suggestions here?

Thanks in advance,

 Robert
