Well, all I can report is that I use both bbkeys and bbpager to switch workspaces many times a day and this bug has never bitten me with my configuration: Mandrake 7.2, 2.4.5 kernel, glibc 2.2.1, XFree86 4.1.0, blackbox 0.61.1, bbkeys 0.8.3, bbpager 0.3.0, and bbconf 1.0. I compiled and installed blackbox and the bb* programs (as opposed to using rpm's). I've also changed the default workspace names (e.g., to "Mail", "Web", etc), in case that makes a difference.
