So here is the advantage scenario: You have an alt-a keybinding. You could then have a ctrl-m alt-a binding for something else. The virgo among us (you know, the guys who color organize their sock drawer) can then have all of their "exec something" bindings under say ctrl-x and their workspace handling under ctrl-w. This is why emacs has chained bindings -- otherwise you run out of keys fast. Do we care, dunno. As an aside, is morel still hacking? I am getting the urge to dive in.
