-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I had an idea while driving home from work today. PHP could easily be used to check the browser type, and return a different HTML page based on what browser is being used. I figure if the browser declares itself as a Netscape or Mozilla compatible, return a page with tables (my version), if its anything else (lynx, etc.) return non-tables (Rajat's version).
That way, the browsers that definately support tables will properly will see it, and other browsers (e.g. lynx) will get a non-tables page. i think this might be a good compromise between having a site that is easily browseable in a modern/GUI browser and a site that is easily accessable to an older/text-only/lynx/non-tables browser. comments, ideas? If anyone thinks its worthwhile, i'll get to work on a simple script that will do this.... coupled with some use of that perl script i wrote, we could keep a large part of the HTML code common between the two different site styles. ... Or am i overcomplicating a simple situation? :-) PS: Sean, been using BB 0.62 pre1 for a few hours now w/o a hitch. Thanks again for making an awesome WM even sturdier and better. - -- [scott] :: "ein kalter Tod fr den sprecher von Lgen" -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: PGP 6.5.8 iQA/AwUBPDWxLGkF5Bwr8hiXEQJUcwCg/jdEkUQWPUN/835knTJHjrzSMBEAoPQ+ LARS/Q78/jq68P4L6dBI4W2Y =qgb0 -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
