I realize this is not a direct blackbox-related question, but I wrote the
author and have not recieved a reply. I'm hoping someone here would be
kind enough to help me out.
I downloaded and applied the blackstatusbox patch by Peter White. I have
the status bar under the slit but I am not getting any messages from
syslog, though I can use the
echo Hello World > /usr/home/cary/.channel/news/blackbox
method to write to it. After I shut down X, I get the following error
message repeated one or more times:
read error on news fifo
error was: Resource temporarily unavailable
Can anyone provide any assistance?
FWIW: blackbox 0.61.1
XFree86 4.2.0
FreeBSD 4.4
