I believe that would look odd. For the clock to grow it would have to enlarge the toolbar so for a few hours every day you have a 480 pixel wide toolbar and for a few hours you have a 485 pixel or whatever. Maybe a better solution would be specify a padding value. Or perhaps in the course of my testing something obvious will show up (-:
