i think thats what it is. if i right click some flash to bring up the menu, and then click elsewhere in the window, the flash menu disappears. if i go to another workspace, the flash menu is sitting right there. i'm sure either switching the page or closing the browser is what would cause the menu to turn white. good call. >a) xwininfo is pretty useless, try 'xprop'.
