focusing is ugly.  The problem is if you assign nothing focus shings
occasionally break.  You you have to give something focus.  In blackbox's case
that is one of the reasons for the toolbar -- it is a known open window.  Brad
and I are doing some focus updates so will see if we can settle this one.
