For the confused among you, this is me hacking on the menu parser for the
blackbox lib.  I oopsed and sent it to the list instead of to the devels (hence
take 3).

Oh well, nothing super secret here, just hashing out ideas.  Not sure if we
will use this design, but we are experimenting.
