After trying a few different X server arguments, Blackbox now appears
correctly. For future reference, the options I modified in
/usr/lib/X11/xdm/Xserver are:
- changed "-pseudomap 4sight" to "-pseudomap pseudo"
- added "-depth 24"
- added "-class TrueColor"

I do remember reading something similar to this somewhere else, but
I'm not sure where.

This also seems to be related to a thread posted by Wes Brown back in
March 2000 called "blackbox visual depth on SGI's Xserver". As he
said, the default visual on SGI's X server is always a pretty low-end
one, but better ones may be available, and there doesn't seem to be
functionality in Blackbox to override the visual or determine the best
one.

Anyway, at least it's working now! :-)
