I may be a little daft, but um how did you use those styles? Neither bbconf nor blackbox will parse them. It seems to not like the '#ffffff' style the usual way is rgb:ff/ff/ff. Also do not specify a path to bsetbg in your styles, blackbox should find it in the path or the user should edit the style.
