Hello again,
first of all, THANKS A LOT to everybody who helped me
to run blackbox on my GNOME office workstation.
Summary:
CTL ALT BSP just goes back to gdm
Failsafe and .Xclients methods both work, I chose
the second.
Now another showstopper. I am posting it here because
somebody on another list told me it might be a Xserver/
wm issue.
I wanted to log in on a solaris workstation, and run FrameMaker
there with display on my Linux/Blackbox PC. $DISPLAY is set OK,
but I see for half a second the Adobe copyright window, then it
closes and I am left with zero information as to why it quit.
As mentioned, somebody told me it might be that FrameMaker wants
something called Display PostScript (XPS) server extension.
Do you know what that is, where is relevant documentation, and if
it might in any way depend from blackbox? And, of course, how to
solve it?
TIA,
Marco
Hello,
Here in the office I have FrameMaker 6 installed on all Solaris
workstations. I want to log to one of them from my local RH PC, run
FrameMaker on the workstation and see/use it on my Linux screen.
I have tried telnet, rlogin, etc... The DISPLAY variable is set
correctly, but I just see the Adobe copyright window for half a second,
then it quits without leaving any error message anywhere. Has anybody
done this on a Linux/Solaris network? Does anybody have a working
script to share?
A search in the Adobe site/user forums gave nothing, same on Google...
TIA,
Marco Fioretti
