Before you do, open QS's preferences, click on the the Catalog tab,
and then look at the bar at the bottom of the window.  You should see
a drop-down "Rescan" list.  I suspect that you may have selected
"Manually" here.  If so, try changing it to "Every 10 minutes."  Also,
you can force a rescan at any time by pressing ⌘R while the main QS
interface window is open.

If this doesn't work, then try deleting the catalog.plist from QS's
application support folder.  For safety's sake, make a backup of the
folder first, in case that somehow affects your other settings for
some strange reason.
