I use QS hotkeys mainly as launchers, with the same command+control
+letter system (Protip: Change Capslock into Control in the Keyboard
pane in the System Preferences).

I normally use the starting letter of the service I want:

M: Music: iTunes (different modifier brings up "Now Playing" growl
notification)
I: Internet: Camino (dif. modifiers for other browsers)
E: Email: Mail.app
N: Notes: OmniOutliner (dif. modifier held down quickly pulls out my
inclass note taking template)
A:AIM: Adium (dif. modifier launches Skype)
T: Todos: OmniFocus
W: Writing: Pages
C: Clipboard: Show Clipboard History Contents
S: Shelf: Show Shelf
R: Calendar: iCal (This is from way back when I used Remember! on OS9.
Anyone "remember" that app? Cute icon)
G: Google Search
V: moVe current finder Item To... (This hotkey alone saves me 134324
hours a day).

For iTunes control, I've used Command F12 for play/pause (F12 was the
Pause key on my old extended keyboard, another ancient trigger)
Command F9/F10 are Rewind/FF (On pro laptops, the keyboard lighting
icons are somewhat representative)
Ratings are Comand F1-F5. Hold option on F1/F2 for 1/2 star changes
(through a dougsapplescript)

These are my main triggers. I used to have tons more (common folders,
proxy actions, etc), but since I've been trashing my prefs every other
week or so (it seems), I don't add them anymore, utilizing the "type
and hold" trick to quickly launch other common apps (ie: "P" -> "S
(Hold)" ==> Photoshop launches). ...I really should add some more
Websearch hotkeys, but Quicksearch bookmarklets in Camino (and the
aforementioned problem) discourage this practice.

I've always been a hotkey nut though, so these things come as second
nature (I've just about integrated OSX's built-in EMACs hotkeys into
my workflow... now I can go hours w/o touching the mouse).

Hope that helps!
