Open QS's preferences, select the Preferences tab, and select Extras
from the sidebar.  Enable "Pull selection from front application
instead of Finder"

Re: pasting

My guess is that Remote Desktop and Fusion both have to do some fancy
footwork in the background to send your local clipboard contents to
the other computer, and the way they are set up is not happy to work
with QS's method of pasting data.  A simple workaround would be to
forego using QS's own paste action and instead to press ⌘C while in
the first pane of QS, and then to press ⌘V in Remote Desktop or
Fusion.
