Not sure if it's still the case, but the TextMate Ranker plugin has
been known to break selecting something in the third pane when using
the Open With... action.

Quicksilver is no longer actively developed. However, issue number two
is already addressed with the TextMate Ranker plugin. Install this in
the plugins pane then change the string ranker option in the Handlers
section of Preferences.
The description claims it "prefers word boundaries", but what this
actually means is that it ranks names with initials that match before
names with consecutive letters that match. It would, for instance,
favor "Address Book" over "About these scripts…"
Hope this helps.

I love Quicksilver. I use it all the time. If I'm paralysed without
my
Mac, I'm lame without Quicksilver.
But there's two things I wish Quicksilver did:
1. Launched scripts in new threads. When you launch an application
with Quicksilver, it doesn't wait for the application to close before
responding again to input; but for as long as an Applescript runs
(some of mine have timers for several minutes), QS remains "hung".
2. Recognised acronyms when searching. I name many files with with
Quicksilver searching in mind, e.g. "Format Phone Numbers". I want to
type "fpn" in QS to find it (short & easy to remember), but to
associate this with the file, after typing it I have to scroll
through
hundreds of entries to find the right one. If QS prioritised the
first
letters in words, or capital letters in otherwise lowercase names;
that would be great!
