I had the same problem with B54 3815.

However, I managed to work around it by:
(*) hitting "cancel" when the plugin installation hangs
(*) hitting "back" to get back to the plugin screen
(*) selecting *one* plugin, and installing it (this worked! :)
(*) hitting "back" to get back to the plugin screen
(*) lather, rinse, repeat for as many plugins as desired :)
