The trigger should override the default hotkey in safari. You should be able to set the trigger to only work in Safari and not other apps (I do this for one trigger in Safari). Open the drawer for the trigger in the trigger prefs and look in the scope tab. Choose Enabled in selected applications and type Safari in the big box. More details in the manual.

If you really want to remove the cmd-P hotkey in safari, you can perhaps do this (or rather reassign cmd-p to something else using the OS X Keyboard System Preferences, the Keyboard Shortcuts tab.
