What version of iTunes? I tried iTunes 8 on 10.5.4.

Action: i try to open a iTunes playlist through the Command Window of QS.

I tried a playlist with the Play action and had the same result as you.

Result: iTunes opens up in background (is not activated)
Playlist does not open (iTunes opens with its default settings i.e. it shows Library\Music and not the playlist)

Action: i bring iTunes in QS Command Window, press right arrow key to reach the playlist and open it
Result: same as before

Many(all that i have tried) such options for iTunes available by pressing the right arrow are not working.

I right arrowed into a playlist and choose the first song and the play action and it played. I used Quicksilver's Next Song trigger and the next song in the playlist played.

Worst of all this: when i try to open the playlist through QS command window after iTunes is open and activated....still the focus does not shift to the desired playlist.

I saw this too.

So you really cant control iTunes with QS.....dont know why there are so many options listed when the right arrow is pressed.

Um there are many other iTunes related features that seem to work, so that seems a little broad to me. I'm not sure but maybe iTunes 8 broke something with QS's playlist integration. Wouldn't be the first time.
