Several problems:

Installing b56 from scratch doesn't work (it means QS is just unuseful at this stage) because plugins don't download.

It's possible the site was down, but I just successfully downloaded a plugin using B54 and I'm pretty sure they use the same site to get plugins from.

If you want to install b54, the .dmg downloaded at blacktree's site is corrupted (at least in
my machine 10.5.5, Intel).

It would help to know details, but see the FAQ under "The Quicksilver .dmg doesn’t mount" for a possible solution.

I just want to reindex my catalog but it seems that QS is abandoned and support is fuzzy.

If you have an existing working installation, then reindexing the catalog should just work automatically and in the background and doesn't require access to any Quicksilver site to do so. If there was an issue, it would help to know details to be able to diagnose what the problem was.
