I'm new to the group but not QS.  Maybe this would help in the
FAQ...as it took me a bit to figure out.
My CPU was pegged over 100% most of the time.  After googling, I found
it was Spotlight and related services (atsserver etc.) were choking.
I don't use Spotlight, so following recommendations I set the main HD
to private, essentially disabling Spotlight.
QS would crash on startup everytime, and eventually I found it to be
the change I made in Spotlight.  Fix, disable the Spotlight module in
QS.
