Can someone with more knowledge tell me if this is safe?

I have found a hack to remove the QS icons from the Dock and
application switcher.

On 10.6, if you have Xcode, you can use Property List Editor to open
the Info.plist that's located in the Quicksilver application package.
(Bring up QS in pane 1, option+right arrow, right arrow into
Contents.)
Once open, select 'Add Item', click 'Application is background only'
and check the box. Save and relaunch QS.
Here's a screenshot:

Normal functions of the bezel seem to work, although I haven't tried
everything!

CAUTION: opening preferences won't put the focus on that window, and
some other application will remain active in the menubar. The
preferences window can be clicked, but no text can be entered. The
window can still be closed with the 'x' button. This is not such a
problem if everything is set up nicely.

I was able to reverse this by unchecking the same box.
This also seems to work well with HardwareGrowler.
I'm using BezelHud.

Cheers, philgroups.
