This is a known bug. There have been several posts cropping up during and since the launch of SL (see page1). In discussing these it showed that ultimately three modules are known not to work:
Service Menu Module plugin File Tagging plugin Airport Networks plugin I would guess that if you move these three plugins out of your PlugIns folder you can basically try to use your old prefs etc. Worked for others but not all the time.
