VERY many thanks for doing this Chris. I compiled this script using a different name into my~/Library/Application Support/Quicksilver/ Actions folder. It works perfectly. Don't know why, but I thought I'd try the original one - possible because I had saved the new one with a different name. That worked as intended too! Now, I KNOW I quit and restarted QS after installing the scripts on both occasions so I have no idea what's been going on. Go figure. Renewed thanks, buddy!
