What version of Quicksilver are you running? I believe this problem has been addressed in the latest version (b56a7 as of this writing), available here: http://code.google.com/p/blacktree-alchemy/downloads/list
If you have installed the Services Menu and File Tagging modules, you'll need to remove them; they haven't worked since Tiger. If the problem persists, try moving aside ~/Library/Application Support/Quicksilver also. This will remove all of your installed plugins and triggers. Try installing plugins one by one and testing that everything works, and if you find that Quicksilver breaks again after installing one, let us know so we'll know what to tell other users in the future.
