That’s what I meant when I said “Spotlight in Window” is more likely to be what 
you want than “Spotlight in Finder”. It gives you a Finder window with the 
search text in the search field just like the service option apparently does. 
(I don’t have the services module installed to test.) I haven’t noticed whether 
or not the results are different between the two.

As for documentation of the behavior, it’s likely to be wrong even if it 
exists, as it would probably talk about the “window mode” for Spotlight that 
was only present in 10.4 if I remember correctly.
