A good workaround might be to disable the hotkey combos that you aren't likely to use via System Preferences > Keyboard > Keyboard Shortcuts. There, you can check and uncheck those you don't want or need. This would be a good place to start, as it would free up some of those potentially less-than-useful system Keyboard Shortcuts.
