ive updated to ß58, running 10.6.4; and I am still having this issue.

On a separate note, I was previously using ß54 and did not have this
issue until a recent mac os update (I assume 10.6.4 is the culprit).
which is weird, if, as the OP's referenced post states, this bug is a
result of an architectural difference introduced in 10.6.
