how to launch an application as root user?

There are two applications I need to launch as the root user fairly
often. I would like to have a quick and easy way to do this, so I
thought of using Quicksilver. Can anyone tell me how to launch Finder
as root? Also, I have a Linux app installed with fink that I need to
launch as root. Thanks for any help.
