A few years back Quicksilver was pretty much dominant in this area, at least 
is how i remember it. Since then it stopped being developed, got buggy as 
hell so it's no wonder that so many people seem to ignore it. I've just 
moved back to QS from Launchbar and im loving it. I can only hope the 
community can keep this excellent moving forward and low on issues and im 
sure it will be in the place it deserves.
