Hi, First off just wanted to say how exciting it is to see QS being actively developed again!!! One of the main reasons i switched to Macs was just to use QS, lol.
Anyway after moving to LaunchBar after QS became buggy i am starting to transition back to QS and loving the increased flexibility and power that QS offers. That being said there are a few things that i have gotten really used in my workflow that i would love to see fixed/ implemented in QS, some of which i have tweeted to @LoveQuicksilver (awesome tweets btw!) Issues: 1. The ability to choose QS as the scope for a trigger, meaning the trigger will only be active when the QS command window is active. Tried enabling menu and dock items but no luck. The reason i prefer this to global triggers is because being mostly a keyboard user i already have so many hotkeys setup globally as well as within the apps i use, especially apps like textmate/xcode, that being able to execute triggers only within QS would be much easier to use and remember. 2. Enable right arrow into Apps to show recent items. Really gotten used to using this one and often times this is the way i will launch an app. 3. App icons when using certain proxy objects such as Show all Windows, Current Application, etc.. dont appear to be working and instead a big white ? is shown. 4. Only have certain catalog entries show up when using a specific keyword and right arrowing into it. Initially i thought this is what would happen if you unchecked the "Include in Global catalog" setting although it doesnt. This would really come in handy for catalog entries like social bookmarks where i dont want its thousands of entries to clutter my master search catalog. Also similar to LB "Access items via Sub Search Only". 5. Speed!!! While QS definitely feels a lot faster it still could use a bit of work in this area. Perhaps limiting the results to some user defined value instead of showing all results? Or also adding a delay before showing the avail actions for an object, which seems like it slows down things a bit? 6. Setting default as mail handler always goes back to Mail.app instead of default? Using Thunderbird as mail app composing an email works fine however Compose with item doesnt work. 7. The resizing of the result windows arent remembered between restarts. Not major but would be nice. Suggestions: 1. Enable delete key to delete only the last typed character. I am sure this has been brought up numerous times and it probably goes against the meaning of QS : ) but it just feels foreign to me that i have to retype what i am looking for when making a mistake. I know that over time QS gets better at predicting my searches but i already have the muscle memory built in to delete a character automatically when i make a mistake which makes it very frustrating when i have to retype the whole search. Also QS is the only launcher i have seen with this behavior and i think this might also be very frustrating behavior for new users. 2. Ability to sort folder contents by modified, size, name, etc. by pressing an additional key when right arrowing into a folder similar to how showing hidden files by Option-arrowing into a folder works. Extremely useful for things like downloaded files, etc which havent been indexed yet! 3. Something similar to LB Categories which allows you to search for all files in the catalog of a certain type. I find this to be a very intuitive way to quickly search through all pdf, txt, doc, png, etc files. 5. Real time catalog updates via some kind of dir watcher.
