You have to download them individually, manually from qsapp.com. And then you have to install them individually, manually (install a plugin by double-clicking on the .qsplugin once it's un-archived). Then the date in the plugins list will still be the old one, but the version number should be the new one. We know it's a major PITA and we are working on it, but for now that's how it has to be. Hopefully it will be working as it used to be in the next version.
