Hey, could everybody who filled out the form put in here what they
said for "Why do you prefer QS"? I have to paraphrase because I
already filled out the form, but:

1. Nothing else really understands free-text search the way QS does:
they're all based on contiguous phrases and/or starts of words—so in
Alfred I have to type "pho" for Photoshop, but in QS it can be "ps".
(This is assuming I don't have Alfred's "fuzzy matching" option turned
on, but that option doesn't work on files, which is where it's the
most useful)
2. Other apps use hard-coded actions in an inconsistent way—so for
Alfred, if I want to quit an app I have to type the "q" first, then
the app name, but I think the "move to" is after, like QS. QS instead
uses an OO model where _everything_ is an object-action pair. What
actions accept what objects is up to the plugin devs, and there are
lots of tricks (like complementary actions as discussed on
LoveQuicksilver, or Shift-Cmd-Letter shortcuts) to adapt if you _do_
want more "hard-coded" seeming or action-focused workflows.

I wish they'd had a box for "weaknesses", in which I would have put:

1. Speed: I used Alfred for a little while before B60 and the one
thing that I liked a lot was how fast it was. Of course how it _got_
that way is by using Spotlight, which is precisely why it doesn't do
fuzzy matching, so...
2. Update frequency—which has the same cause and the same
difficulties. "Every 10 minutes" is not nearly enough, especially if
I'm in the Finder, move a file, and then want to get at it with QS and
QS can't find it. Particularly if I install a new app, can't see the
DMG for it because it's newly created so I have to go through the
Finder, and then _still_ can't see the app itself without a Cmd-R.

QS is still far and away the best launcher out there IMO. Thanks again
to all the devs for bringing it back from the dead!
