I should mention here that this is my only problem with Quicksilver -- it sometimes waits for a while after I have selected a file (that I want to move/copy). I have found no way of predicting when it will choose to slow down for this particular activity. It does happen when there are no mounted disks and even after a fresh reboot. Solving it will improve user experience by a lot, especially for people who move files around frequently.
