Hi Patrick,

Thanks for your reply.  I am not sure what you mean by "system must set 
the 'default email reader' in the Mail.app preferences to 'Google Mail'".

I have the gmail plugin for QS installed and selected, but when I compose 
an email, it brings up the OS X mail app.
