Did you type "Quicksilver" into Activity Monitor's search box? That should 
quickly filter the list down to just Quicksilver. If there is nothing 
there, then the application isn't running. Otherwise, you should see it and 
then be able to force quit it.

If it really isn't running, but Finder won't let you trash the application 
file, you could just open Terminal and type in the following command:

rm -R /Applications/Quicksilver.app

That ought to nuke it immediately. Note: if you don't have Quicksilver.app 
in your main applications folder, you'll have to change the path to match. 
The easiest way to do that would be to type in rm -R (with the trailing 
space after -R) and then simply drag Quicksilver.app onto the Terminal 
window.
