Yeah, sorry, the video was more about the idea of using Dictation with QS 
to get Siri-tyoe functionality.

The hack does work though. Search for the Reminders action in pane 2 
using ⇧r and make that the default result by clicking the grey dot in pane 
2's results list. Use <a 
href="http://blog.qsapp.com/post/29076568830/launch-qs-with-dictation-active";>Launch
 
QS with Dictation Active</a> to say the reminder. Hit ⌘⇧r to run the 
script. I have Reminders.app running on a dedicated space. You may need to 
change the delays in the Reminder.scpt if you're launching Reminders every 
time, or you're on an older system.
