Just note that typing calculations starting with `=` is a little different, since you can see the result in real-time. To actually do something with the result, you need to hit ↩ to run the Calculate action. That should re-open Quicksilver with the result as text. You might also be interested in the “Focus action when displaying results” preference. It saves you from having to hit ⇥ before searching for an action in situations like this.
