Somehow my current application proxy object is broken. I normally use it to
invoke the menu bar items like this:

current application --> menu bar items… --> [whatever command I'm
looking for]

Now when I execute this, the current application will show up, but the icon
won't be the actual application, but just a generic icon. Only a limited set of
commands is available in the second pane, none of which are menu bar items. I
can work around this by calling up the specific application in the first pane
like this:

Word --> menu bar items… --> [whatever command I'm looking for]

This leads me to think that the problem is with the current application item,
not the menu bar items or related commands. Any thoughts as to what I broke and
how to fix it?

Many thanks,
Michael Burer
