[Friends: I accidentally submitted this under an unrelated thread, so I am
reposting to correct that mistake and hopefully get some help. My apologies
for any irritation this may cause.]

Somehow my current application proxy object is broken. I normally use it to
invoke the menu bar items like this:

current application --> menu bar items… --> [whatever command I'm
looking for]

Now when I execute this, the current application will show up, but the icon
won't be the actual application, but just a generic icon. Only a limited
set of commands is available in the second pane, none of which are menu bar
items. I can work around this by calling up the specific application in the
first pane like this:

Word --> menu bar items… --> [whatever command I'm looking for]

This leads me to think that the problem is with the current application
item, not the menu bar items or related commands. Restarting QS or my
computer does not change the behavior. Any thoughts as to what I broke and
how to fix it?
