The error means it’s trying to load one that’s *not* installed (or couldn’t
load), so if it somehow got set to one you don’t have, that would explain it.
I’ve figured it out. If the preference is completely missing (meaning you’ve
never changed the ranker), it mistakes that for a missing ranker and shows the
error. It’s not hurting anything, but it’s annoying.
It’s a pretty simple fix on our end. We just need to define a default in
`QSDefaults.plist` so it will always have a value.
Until then, setting the default explicitly should make the error go away. Shut
down QS and run this in Terminal:
defaults write com.blacktree.Quicksilver QSStringRankers
QSDefaultStringRanker
