Generally, you want the most recent version. The next version is available as a pre-release now and will be final pretty soon, so I’d recommend that when the time comes. (That will be the last version that runs on 10.6, by the way.) CPU and disk use from Quicksilver are generally not a concern. The only thing I’d worry about is memory, and the only control you have over that is the size of your catalog. Go to Preferences → Catalog and disable anything you don’t need. You probably won’t know what a lot of it is for. I’d leave most of it alone and just concentrate on the “Plugins” and “User” sections. Tip: For files and folders, you don’t have to have them all in the catalog to access them.
