I tried as a workaround unchecking contents (Books, Podcasts, iTunes U) in 
Catalog > Plugins > iTunes > iTunes Playlists info pane and re-scanning, to 
no avail.

Shouldn't it work that way? Or it just taps directly the whole xml file?
