Perhaps you’d also like to know how to stop your car from moving when you drive it, or how to stop your e-mail client from showing you all those darn messages. ;-) You’re asking to disable the thing that makes Quicksilver “quick”. This can’t be done currently. It might be possible with a new string ranker plug-in, but I encourage you to give it a chance as is. The default built-in string ranker will show many many results, but it should give higher priority to the kinds of things you’re asking about. That is, items beginning with that contiguous string should be higher in the list of results. (Click the gear and make sure “Sort by Score” is enabled.) Even if something isn’t high on the list at first, if you “use” it once or twice, it will bubble up to the top the next time you do the same search. As mentioned previously, you can also install the TextStart Ranker from the plug-in preferences, but I think that would be further from your goal, not closer. That ranker (which is what I use) gives higher rank to things where the characters fall on word boundaries. For example, if I type “pe”, “Some Picture Editor” will appear higher than “Pencil”. But again, they would both be on the list, and if I always open “Pencil” after doing that search, it will quickly start appearing above “Some Picture Editor”. -- Rob McBroom <http://www.skurfer.com/> -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Quicksilver" group.
