Which previous versions? I tried B71 and B70 and ← never shows the parent 
folder when multiple files are selected (even before you move them). Not that 
you shouldn’t be able to do this currently. I’m just trying to narrow it down.

There’s a change under review (which will probably be accepted) that will make 
⌥← always select the parent folder of a file, no matter how you arrived at it. 
It might not work for multiple files, but at worst, you would hit → (to expose 
the individual files) then ⌥←.

But again, ideally it would work with just ←.
