Thanks David for getting in touch with Things. Your email sparked off a reaction which ended up with them emailing me to say that they do not currently have the resources to update the plugin, but would happily share the source code with any developer who would be willing to update the plugin.
I've asked round the regular devs, and none of us are Things users and as such don't have the incentives or voluntary time to update it at the moment. If anybody would like to try and fix up the plugin, then all they need to do is email support [at] culturedcode [dot] com A shame we couldn't come to a real solution!
