Thanks Lucas. In fact I had a dumb problem: my custom catalog items 
included my home folder as well as my desktop, so even though I excluded 
them from the Desktop catalog, they were still indexed as part of my home 
folder (which contains the Desktop). Fixed it now. 

But Quicksilver doesn't recognise certain file extensions, and it won't 
exclude them. For example, .pfm and .afm. What's up with that? It won't 
accept them in the "exclude" field.
