I thought I would share a performance tip using a hidden default that seems
to have helped me

I kept seeing high CPU usage by quicklooksatellite-general. I tracked it
down to QS asking for thumbnails for items in the display list. Since I use
Primer and don't really have a need for thumbnails I turned them completely
using the hidden pref "QSLoadImagePreviews". Hidden defaults are listed in
http://qsapp.com/wiki/Hidden_Defaults.

You can also turn thumbnails off for just specific types using the hidden
default QSFilePreviewTypes. If you are interested in what types of items
are having thumbnails generated you can use "defaults write -g
QLEnableLogging YES" to turn on quicklook logging.
