Hi, I have been playing around with the Services Menu plugin and experimenting with the idea of adding each service action as an object to the catalog. This is contrary to how QS is typically used but it seems to work really well for my workflow. For example the “Look Up in Dictionary” service is a lot more useful to me now as it feels more natural conceptually for me do Look Up in Dictionary > Search Term.
There are also two other cool benefits with having actions as objects: Triggers can now be created to invoke these object actions for quick searching You can use the awesome abbreviations feature to customize the service name. So for the “Look Up in Dictionary” object i have setup an abbreviation called Define. This doesn’t work as well with every service and I’m sure there will be issues with how some services work but for a lot of actions the idea of specifying the action first and then selecting the object seems to work well. I have it working fairly well and will clean it up a little and submit a pull request later today with what i have so far.
