What method? Setting Caps Lock to be a Control key? I’ve been doing that for years. Just keep in mind that it’s a per-keyboard setting, so if you plug in an external keyboard at work or something, you have to go back to System Preferences and set it for that keyboard, too.
But Karabiner offers other benefits too (I’m thinking about installing it). So if you’re going to have it anyway, no reason not to use it. But if activating Quicksilver with Caps Lock is all you use it for, it seems pretty heavy-handed. :-)
